FMG exists to give better deal for rural New Zealand.  In fact, FMG was started in 1905 by some farmers becuase they were fed up with city insurers charging outrageous premiums for rural risks they didn’t understand.

Today, FMG is still 100% New Zealand owned by our rural members. We put all profits back into the business to keep premiums fair and affordable and support local rural communities. Relationships are at the heart of our business model and we put our clients and the communities they come from first. That’s pretty much what being a mutual organisation is all about.

Having worked the land and supported our rural clients for over a century, we understand there can be no achievement without risk. At FMG, we take an advice-led approach to help our clients avoid interruptions to their business and personal life and achieve their goals.

Robyn Betts is the creator of Grace Knitwear

'Grace' was my first suri alpaca I have spent the last 10 years working  to use suri alpaca fleece as high end quality  knitwear . I am a wool classer and bred suri alpacas for 13 years.
I have done the hand knitting yarn-supersuri and now this has evolved to  the development  of a yarn which can be used in commercial  knitting machine.  All of the processing and manufacturing is done in Victoria,Australia with an amazing team of textile companies.  Grace Knitwear has the soft drape of suri  combined with the memory of merino resulting in knitwear  fashion for men and women.  I am looking forward to sharing Grace  Knitwear with New Zealand
I am also seeking interest from retailers who may wish to be the sole distributor of Grace Knitwear for New Zealand

Working closely with New Zealand arts and craftspeople The Alpaca Company have developed a great range of products including pottery alpacas, tableware and homeware, limited edition prints, jewellery, glassware and giftpacks, many of which are unique and only available through The Alpaca Company.  We can work with you if you have any specific requests and we can also arrange for some products to be customised to include names, dates etc. which make great gifts for weddings, birthdays or any other special occasion.
